Odisha all-rounder Swagatika Rath has been selected to represent India in the Women`s T-20 and One-Day International series against Bangladesh to be played at Baroda and Ahmedabad from April 2 to 12. The series will feature three T-20 and as many ODIs. The T-20 matches will be played at Baroda on April 2, 4 and 5, while the three ODIs will take place at Ahmedabad on April 8, 10 and 12.
Swagatika, a right-hand middle-order batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler, came to limelight by scoring a half-century and picking up two wickets for 15 runs in a Women`s World Cup warm-up math against Pakistan at Barabati Stadium earlier on January 30. Last year, she became the first woman cricketer of Odisha to bag all 10 wickets in an inter-district match against Kalahandi. Eighteen-year-old Swagatika, who hails from Jajpur district, is set to become the third international woman cricketer of Odisha after Madhuri Meheta and Rasanara Parbin.
